HELP - oiled chips with wrong oil
Bad mistake by myself but no time time to go too deep into the story: I oiled my chips with sunflower sort of oil, wondered about the glue-alike feel for about two weeks and now I realised I used the wrong oil.
I heared that the chips will begin to stink and maybe I already ruined them totally. I will soak them for another 15 mins in Vanish OxiAction. I hope this will be enough to get them Oilfree
Any other experiences or suggestions on how to clean them before they will be ruined?

Bummer. I hate when I self-inflict damage.
Mineral oil is what you want to use in the future. It's terribly expensive at Walgreens so go to Walmart or other grocery store.
As far as removing the oil, I'm sorry to say I don't have an answer for you but seems like oxiclean or just plain old dishsoap and water should do the trick.
Good luck.

I haven't done it myself, but I would also think a mild, plain dishsoap would take out the oil without an issue.

Re: HELP - oiled chips with wrong oil
read that baby oil is the same as mineral oil but with fragrances. Took a baby oil then but wasn't aware that it might be other baby oil than "mineral oil with fragrance additions"...
Have to kill my self when they will be ruined. Too much costs, too much waitings for them, too much work with the fucing toothbrush, too much fun with them

I really wouldn't assume the worst yet. Try washing them and see what happens. I think it's premature to assume all is lost at this point.

Re: HELP - oiled chips with wrong oil
try something like Dawn dishwashing liquid. Its specifically formulated to remove grease and oils.

I second JM's suggestion. Start with this and see what happens.
Don't use mineral oil on them until you think that you've gotten rid of as much of the other oil as possible. There's no point in sealing in the wrong oil.

Re: HELP - oiled chips with wrong oil
I'm wondering for how long I should soak them in dishwashing water. Do you think mixing dishwashing liquid and OxiClean is a good idea?

I think this would work. Soak a small batch for like 15mins then wipe and dry them off.
To dry a bunch at once, lay a bath towel down then lay as many chips as you want. Then lay another bath towel over the chips (chip sandwich) and gently dry the chips. I use a rolling pin myself, but you get the idea.

Try it first with just Dawn because it's known to be great at dissolving grease and in my experience doesn't harm chips. Water should be between warm and hot (not too hot). Soak for 15-20 minutes, wipe surfaces with a wet washcloth, rinse well, dry, and feel them in a day or so. Repeat as necessary.
What kind of chips are you working with? Casino Paulsons?
