Chips: 6,924 | | | Where can you get Orange Clean?
I've seen people mention Quick n' Bright, but I've only seen it in large kits that have a bunch of crap I don't need. Is the Orange Clean a stand alone product? |

Chips: 8,910 | | | Bleecchh! That's super-gross. And I wondered why I always got sick after being in Vegas! (My hand is frequently in front of my face, as I'm always *****-slapped at the Craps table.) |

hk | Toothbrush would work well too. | yeah, i tried that...not stiff enough (those grooves are really tiny). i had the most success cleaning the surface of the chips with a hand towel wet with water mixed with a tiny bit of hand-washing dish detergent (i wouldn't have thought that the paulsons would hold up to the amount of scrubbing that i subjected them to, but they took it well). for the big chunks, though, i had to use my fingernail to scrape them off of the chips (some of the chips have seen a lot of table play, much dirtier than the discovery chips posted above) before scubbing with the towel. though i was hesitant to do this at first because i was afraid of scratching the chips, i quickly realized that my fingernail was not hard enough to make any kind of mark on the chips (at least with the amount of pressure that i was using). a toothpick can't be much harder than my fingernails if it even is harder at all...

Chips: 13,505 | | | And what the hell are those large clumps of mud that you see on casino chips? I know people don't play with mud on their hands. I don't want to know how that forms. |

Chips: 572 | | | It's not Mud- it's....
FINGER GUM!
Don't chew it, it's not from Wrigley's. It's made out of food grease, chip dust, cigarette ash and skin oil. Yum.
Hey, I really love the color you got from the Discovery chips!
I cleaned 350 of the red & green ones with that armor-all multi-purpose stuff, then scrubbed and oiled them.
It was absolutely an insane task.
Yes, a toothpick (well, Lots of toothpicks) is the best thing to clean out the concentric circles. I often snapped off 1/2 inch or so to keep the tip sharp.
NOTE: before you toothpick the grooves, OIL the chips. The bits of gunk loosen their hold after oiling.
I noticed the chips become quite a lot "grippier" after cleaning. My colors are not quite as vivid as yours, however. The quick 'n' brite must be a superior cleaner. Tell us about your oiling technique!
Cleaning faded the color to a near pastel shade... Oiling made a Big difference. |
