Chips: 1,459 | | | So do folk recommend oiling the chips or just letting them get the natural oil from the usage of peoples fingers ?
just curious...
and is there any particular method to follow when oiling chips?
i have a new set of clay chips and want them to brighten up and not feel so "dusty"....
any help is appreciated,

Chips: 2,067 | | | Daniel,
I use mineral oil. I use a clean cloth with about a quarter sized area dipped in mineral oil. I hold the cloth between my thumb and forefinger. I take the chip and roll/spin it in the cloth applying pressure to both faces with my thumb and forefinger. I lay them out on a cloth for 15 minutes or more. Then with a new soft cloth, polish the oil off. Let them sit overnight
"air drying" on a towel before putting them away.

[edit] oops, guess the question was answered while i was writing this out... | i got my plain mineral oil from wal mart, its says mineral oil is used as a laxative...anyways i usually just oiled each chip by hand with a few drops per chips then dry it with a microfiber towel to avoid lint. |

Chips: 22 | | | Does make a difference I'll second the dramatic difference that oiling makes. I've started to oil (baby oil) my NJ Clays and the visual and feel differences are quite significant. The colors appear much more vibrant and rich and as far as feel goes, the texture is a bit smoother (not as chalky or grainy). |

Those are the Mardi Gras, right? How do you like them? | I only have samples, but my mini review is:
PRO
- very nice inlay with excellent texture
- nice mold
- good feel, sound, shuffle
- great colors - a little off standard, but keeping with the Mardi Gras theme
CON
- A fair percentage of the inlays are off-center (3 of my 6 samples have one side that is clearly off center)
Overall, I think they're great chips, and I would love to have a set, but I have ordered $$$$ in poker chips in the last two months and I need to cut back.

Chips: 298 | | | the off center inlays is a common problem with blue chip. Are any of the sample mardi gras spinners? |
