Mineral Oil
Ok, so I have decided to oil the Milano's that I have on order now. I've searched high and low and I've seen references to "mineral oil" many times. Does anyone have a recommended brand to buy?
If I were to go to Target or Walmart tomorrow, can I pick something up? What section of the store carries this stuff?
Thanks!

Generic brands are fine. Mineral oil is found in the pharmacy section with the laxatives.

Re: Mineral Oil
I think that the Milanos have labels rather than inlays. If that's the case, you might want to oil the edges only so that the oil doesn't seep under the inlays and discolor them. Test a few chips before oiling the entire set.

Re: Mineral Oil
Yeah there's no science here. The basic nature of mineral oil is that it has no odor - very simple stuff. It can be found in the pharmacy section, and typically you'll find a single brand.

Re: Mineral Oil
your local drugstore will have it, use it VERY sparingly, their smallest bottle should be more than enough.

Re: Mineral Oil
I have never found mineral oil, labeled as mineral oil, in all the stores I've looked. I see lots of baby oil, it's the same thing, only with fragrance added. I get mine at the local dollar store and one bottle should last you a lifetime of oiling.

Virgin baby whale oil is the cream of the crop of mineral oils.

Try Walgreens, CVS, any other pharmacy, or supermarket or big box stored that have a pharmacy section. You'll find it with the other laxatives, labeled "Mineral Oil."
