It made a huge difference with my NJ Clays. Can't vouch for other chips.

Only caution I would give about "cleaning" chips, especially if you are collecting them with the intention of eventually selling them, is that collectors should always take a cautious view of cleaning chips as you don't want to unintentionally damage the chip over time. But, if you're just wanting to clean your home poker set - by all means - go for it. Perhaps use a little baby oil.

Baby oil is (according to the ingredients on the Johnson's bottle) mineral oil plus fragrance. I know some people use it, and I'm sure both would work the same. I really love babies, but I've had enough baby fragrance in my life already (of the fragrant and the not-so-fragrant kind) so I'm sticking with pure mineral oil.

I used baby oil on my JB paulsons and the smell is gone. Now they just smell like my hands. (kidding, there is no odor at all)

Spoon oil has a very faint honey smell to it, but it goes away quickly.
