Oiling BJ Hollywod Parks 25c

I have reviewed all the Post I can find on these chips. I read about oiling them and no one said how they came out. It was noted that the color popped out and the White chaulkiness was gone.

But how did it effect the stacking of the chips???

I just received 200 of these 25c chips from a CT'r and oiled 2 of them and they do look really great, but was somewhat affraid to do more . if it is going to make them really slippery.

Should I oil the rest??

By the way I really like these chips, even though they are lighter than my others.

I'm going to use them with my new Argosy $1 and 50c chips I got last month while in Ohio.

Thanks

Re: Oiling BJ Hollywod Parks 25c

I oiled my playboy chips because they were underground for years and were really dry and chalky. Just make sure you go VERY VERY light on the oil and these nylon/plastic injected chips don't need much to bring their luster back. I don't think it's a bad thing, but just make sure you're just putting on enough to get the chalkiness gone.

Those are great chips! Enjoy them!

Re: Oiling BJ Hollywod Parks 25c

Drying the chips is more important than oiling them. You need to make sure they get plenty of time to air dry or they have to be hand dried. This is not an option as some chips can be damaged if too much oil is used.

I prefer to hand dry my chips as soon as they get oiled. Use a lint free cloth and be stingy with the oil. Remember to always use a non-organic oil to keep your chips from developing a rotting smell.

Re: Oiling BJ Hollywod Parks 25c

I would keep the oil EXTREMELY light with these chips. After handling these chips I wouldn't think they would absorb the oil like a good set of clays would. I've noticed they are a bit chalky, but they stack very well. Just keep the oil very light to shine them up and you shouldn't affect the handling/stacking of them very much. Lets see some pics when they're done!

Re: Oiling BJ Hollywod Parks 25c

I finished oiling them the other day. They came out just great. I can't tell that they are not in NEW condition. They are very Bright Red, all the Hot Stamps are perfect and no nicks or other damaage to the chips.

I put the oil on with a Q-Tip to get into the edge design and to limit the amount of oil I put on them. I rubbed off the oil after doing each 50 chips and laided them out for the rest of the day to dry. I then rubbed them again to make sure all the oil was off and put them back in the case. There is no oil feeling to them at all. They still stack as before oiling and shuffel just great.

I really think some of the oil actually soaked into the chip. Anyway they are very nice chips. I read somewhere that they weigh 8.3g's acording to GPI and that is about what my BCC Fan of Cards chips weigh.

There is an add in this months Bluff Mag, from Hollywood Park Casino, and was woundering if the is the same Casino where these chips came from and if they are still being used?

I AM ATTEMPING TO POST PIC's, hope I can.
