Chips: 2,233 | | | Can the temperature in a living room damage clays? My room is right underneath the roof, so it's getting pretty warm in here in summer.
What I'm asking myself, is it possible that the warmth in a normal room can cause wobblig clay chips?
Compared to the temperature in the compression process is a hundred times hotter, but I think there was a thread about wobbling chips in the trunk of a car. Also, a car can get way hotter than a living room I guess.
Any thoughts on that?
btw, I got some chocolate in here and it has not melted yet.

Seriously - I doubt that this room would get hot enough for them to affect chips. I think your living room would have to be inhospitable to reach a heat thyat would affect them. |

Once the humidity drops, they go back to normal. I think these are the new blend, live casino paulsons. I am starting to think if they would re-dope the chip mixture back to a high lead content, this would go away. |

It's kind of an "indoor/outdoor" room, which is usually only a little cooler than the outside temp because of the roof shade.
It can get over 100 degrees in this room, and down to the mid 30's in temp variation.
The only thing we've seen happen is that over time, about 12 of the inlays have bubbled up, and a couple have fallen off. (They were all perfect when the chips were new) However this is easily fixed by using an X-acto knife to carefully pop off the inlay, and with a little smear of super glue stuck back on.
No damage to the chips themselves has been seen whatsoever. |

About 25% of my hotstamped ASMs got destroyed (in a packed case) in the back seat of my car for 8 hours on a hot August day. Heres a terrible pick (these are actually worse than the picture shows...): | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
