Cool Way to Ship Samll Amounts of Chips/Samples

I found this Reynolds Handi-Vac laying in our kitchen pantry. Apparently my wife purchased it a while back. So when I was shipping some samples out I figured I would give it a try. It worked great. Just put the chips in, seal, vacuum, and you're done. The good thing is...it keeps the chips from moving around and rubbing each other. You can either stagger the chips or lay them out flat. It worked great. Then just stick the sealed bag in a bubble mailer and you're set. Very inexpensive and still good protection (for small shipments of samples..etc.)

Anyone who recently bought some of my sample sets from my classified..feel free to share your thoughts on how the chips arrived.

PICS

Well...they're you go. I did do a search for "vacuum seal" which did not bring up that thread I guess because it wasn't in the title. Oh well, same great idea...different products to accomplish it. I guess I wasn't as intuitive as I thought.

Re: Cool Way to Ship Samll Amounts of Chips/Samples

Hey, I got some Matsui samples in that bag. I was wondering what the heck it was. Although the chips were fine, the bag did not appear vacuum-sealed. It seemed like just a normal Ziploc, i.e. the chips weren't fixed in place. Maybe it just doesn't stand up to the rigors of USPS carriage? Maybe it was just a fluke.

FWIW I generally Ziploc bag 'em, expel as much air as possible, then wrap the rest of the bag around the chips and tape around it, so the whole thing is mummified. The only trouble is getting all the air out. Maybe combine this with that technique and we have a winner.

I've also heard that Glad Press n Seal plastic wrap has a similar effect.

BTW Thanks for the Matsuis. They are so choice.
