Clay chips can be prone to warping if they get hot (e.g. left in a car).

Faux don't have that weakness (see Ten's famous chip bake-off for the temperatures that Faux can withstand - they're like cockroachs in survivability).

This is why the boiling method of dying has been so successful with Faux.

Did boiling the ASMs for half an hour produce any spinners or other signs of warping?

Before I did any of this, warping was something I was concerned about, so I planned to do the dying in a different method.

Actually, the chips didn't warp. The chips were not in the solution while it was boiling. I first heated the solution until it boiled, then turned the stove off...and then dropped the chips while the solution was still hot and left them in there for a long time. The dye penetrated enough to cover the whole chip. I did this with the edge spotting chips as well.
