Sorry about the delay Brando, I've been really busy the past couple of days.
Here is an update:
In this picture you can see the original white/cream circle square ASM's in the way back. In the original post I mentioned that I had no idea what to do with them so I decided to try my luck at dying them.
I ended up using a royal blue dye which is shown in the stack in the middle of the picture. I tried my best to keep the consistency the same. Some of them stayed but some of them are either a deeper or lighter shade of blue.
The next stack of chips is a stack in which I tried doing edge spots. 3 out of the 6 came out excellent but the other 3 were very faint.
Here is a better picture of the edge spotting that I attempted on doing:
This took a long time to do. I used clay to seal off the edges. I went with the 212 edge because it seemed the most simple. I 1st dyed the chips a royal blue. After the chips dried, I then placed clay in 212 format around the edges making sure everything was sealed then I dyed them in a darker solution blue. I then took them out and washed the clay away. Very Very time consuming. I would say in all it was about 20-30 minutes a chip (including dying, clay wrapping and drying)
In all it was successful I think. I need to work on my color consistency.
My advice would be, plan well. If you're going to dye a lot of chips make sure you have a big container for dying and that you have enough solution as well. Work step by step and don't short change anything.
Same with the edge spotting. Don't get lazy like I did. I think I just wanted to see if it worked before I put in the work load. But do everything step by step. Plan on what edge you want, then think about your process. I messed up a lot, believe me.
I only ended up dying about 20 chips...it was all that I needed to do since I only needed that amount to use in one of my sets. I didn't want to label or do anything else but dye these chips. What I like about the dying of these chips was that it hid the ugly ink stamp and the hot stamp showed through. The chips are still completely covered in dye, though I've only used them 3 times. Check the original post with pictures and more information. I hope this helps you out.
One more thing........please don't dye those beautiful TR KINGS!!!!. please!!!!
