bud jones / Caesar's / yellowing / cleaning

I have a few questions about Bud Jones chips with white edge spots:

-Any white edge spots on BJ chips seem to yellow quickly and noticeably. I'm thinking Jack Niemann's $1 and $25 and Caesar's $1. Anyone else notice this?

-I have some Caesar's at Sea $1 chips from a couple different sources.
Some are used and I think some may be mint or very close to it. The white edge spots on all of them are noticeably yellowish. Is this standard? Among other reasons, I'm asking because I'm considering either selling them OR purchasing more, and I'd like to be able to accurately represent them to a buyer OR make sure I buy matching chips in the future.

-What's a good way to clean BJ chips? I'm especially curious about cleaning Caesar's at Sea chips. I've heard that the labels come off easily. Will oxyclean or pipeshield peel or fade the label?

-Lastly, anyone have pics of a Caesar's chip w/ label removed?

It was the same with the §1 chips I got from the Chip Room. I used Oxi Clean on them, and it worked really well. The yellowish coloration disappeared nearly alltogether; the chips now look more or less all the same. Oxi Clean did not seem to hurt the chips at all, so I guess I can recommend it for your purposes, too. The labels were not damaged in any way and did not come off.

Re: bud jones / Caesar's / yellowing / cleaning

I am considering relabelling some of my CP@S $1 chips. I don't know how to post pics here but if you PM you email address I have a pic of the $1 chip with the label removed.

While I have not used Oxy Clean yet, using soap and water had no affect on the labels...they are on pretty tight and it takes a bit of time to remove the labels. The labels are fairly stiff and thick so they "want" to remain sitting in the inlay.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll definitely run my chips through some oxy clean. I think the $1s are especially good looking chips, and they'll look even better with brighter white spots.

Re: bud jones / Caesar's / yellowing / cleaning

I dont know about the yellowing, but apparently the best way to store them long term is to:

* drop them directly in a dirt pit in the hot southern united states,
* cover them with a slab of concrete,
* let them sit for 20 years.
* dig them out with a Cat front loader and shovels.

They'll look almost new when removed.
