I do clean sets of casino chips that I put into play.

I think that most casino cages these days deal with inlaid chips rather than hotstamps so that would probably account for what I've been told by the cashiers. Here's a CC>CC page about cleaning chips and it does note both the Window cleaner method as well as the hotstamp discoloration if not covered. CCGTCC.COM - Casino Chip & Gaming Tokens Collectors Club "... I used a soft children's tooth brush and window cleaner.
