Ok, I search and read every post on oiling, my question is, are PI’s and Progen’s considered to be clay chip therefore will have the same benefit to oiling as a clay chip or are they considered to be a plastic chip and shouldn’t be oiled. I really wasn’t able to find that much info on this, what is the opinion on this.
I have some PI's, and they feel clay-like to me. I chose not to oil, I just play with a stack whenever I play online. I can't remember where, but I think a few people said that they look good for a week or two, and then lose their oil a bit. As long as you give them some attention, you shouldn't have to worry.
I have oiled both my sets of the PI Clays. I have the Solids and the Edge Spots. They really looked great for awhile and then the Solids returned almost to the original colors before they were olied. They were the original bunch made with cracks, so that may have had something to do with it.
The Edge Spots for the most part have retained the oiling pretty good now for several months.
I don't think I will spend the time needed to oil them again. They are starting to look better now that I have used them several times.
They are great chips for the money though and I really enjoy mine.
Thanks for the replies; I gather that PI's and Progens are capable of being oiled. I have researched the benefits of oiling vs. not oiling. My main concern or question is, are these brands/type of chips able to be oiled. I just received a 1000 chips of the Progens (Thanks to Jason/Hog Wild). Haven’t made up mind weather or not to oil, but was more interested in weather or not you even could oil these chips, apparently they can be. I might experiment with the extra samples I ordered.
