Does the TSP leave a filmy residue on chips? Can anyone confirm or deny this?
There's no film that I can see, but the label says "Wipe Dry. Clay and plastic chips are now sealed with a protective film and will stay clean, germ and static free much longer!"
Where the heck do you buy the stuff? Hardwood store, Fred Meyer? Help a chipper out!

ok so today I am going to run out and get some tsp. I have a lot of hotstamped paulsons to clean. I've generally had good results with pipe shield and oxyclean, but I've been suspecting that the former is not so good with certain colors of chips, and I don't trust the latter with hotstamps.
I'll be following the recipes and instructions in this thread. Any other recommendations? Anyone have experience adding baking soda or other buffers?
Well, you guys can use TSP if you want and clean your chips in under 15 min. but I like the fact that I can let mine soak in Pipe Sheild for a day or two and just wipe them off with a towel. Good as new. Its safe and effective and won't damage the chip. I'm sticking with PS.
yeah as I mentioned I am not so sure about pipeshield, though it's good to hear you're still confident in it. I'm pretty sure it fades some colors, both in Paulsons and ASMs. I'm guessing the problem is specific to organic dye-based colors, which would be attacked by pipe shield. Also, I have the suspicion that longer soaks in pipeshield might result in a rougher surface. Maybe I am way off on this one.
Anyways, I'd be keen on something as fast and cheap as TSP.
