In my country (Norway), I cannot get hold of any substance that would translate to "mineral oil". There is, however, readily available "liquid paraffin" (sometimes also referred to as "lamp oil"). Would this be the same thing?

(The reason I'm asking is, of course, that I am trying to find out what to oil my chips with).

paraffin oil is fine. i got some from the pharmacy.

Correct. Most of us germans also use praffin from the pharmacy!

Just use baby oil. I went to Apotek1 (pharmacy) and asked for baby oil against sensitive skin and got some "prevent allergies" thingy. Your chips will smell like condoms the rest of the day, but that's it. Just plan ahead to avoid embarrassing questions and/or labeled as a pervert.

I'm pretty sure these are all the same thing.

Bluffalo, can you drink lamp oil? Mineral oil is also used as a laxative.

That explains a lot. I use it for breathing fire, but sometimes there is fire in another sense of the word.

Paraffin, baby oil, mineral oil are bascally the same. You can ask for baby oil with no fragrance which was what I used for my chips.
