Diamond Chip Cleaner review

I recently recieved a set of Paulson Tukwila chips from The Chip Room - Texas Hold'em and other poker supplies that came with a bottle of Diamond Chip Cleaner. Having used Oxi Clean on other chips with good success before, I was sceptical if Diamond Chip Cleaner could compare to that.
In fact, it turned out that Diamond Chip Cleaner lived up to its name and worked even better. I soaked the chips for 45 minutes in it (they were really, really dirty), took a tooth brush and rubbed them very softly with it. All dirt instantly came off, I didn't even have to apply any pressure. Even dirt in the cane mold design instantly vanished, no rubbing needed there, too. That way, it only took me a few seconds per chip to get it perfectly clean.
I must say, Diamond Chip Cleaner is just amazing.

EDIT: I forgot to add that I didn't need to oil the chips afterwards, there was no noticable color bleach.

Re: Diamond Chip Cleaner review

Wow that's very nice. If I ever find some filthy chips for cheap at a garage sale, I'll have to get some D.C.C. Makes you wonder why casinos don't cycle some of their chips into a "cleaning room" every once in a while. (If they already do this, I've never heard of it)

Re: Diamond Chip Cleaner review

Here's an old ChipTalk product review from two years ago from Wilson raving about Diamond Chip Cleaner too http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/poker-...lly-works.html .

The stuff is truly amazing and has been around and discussed for years, not sure why it's not pretty much universally used at this point. I was introduced to it by Wilson's review and can't say enough good things about it.

it might be superior to oxyclean and other stuff, but at $20 for a bottle which is supposed to clean 250 chips, that's a nice $40 per cleaning session. quite expensive if your chips get used a lot.

My bottle just about cleaned the 500 chips - still more expensive than Oxi Clean, but with many advantages.

Re: Diamond Chip Cleaner review

It is more expensive than oxi-clean, but it will not dry your chips at all. It makes the chips slide smoother than before. *Not sure how much of that is a result of the sticky stuff being removed. It does dissolve all the dirt quickly and with no drying effect. Only thing it doesn't do well is remove the blue color bleed on white. This still needs to be scrubbed off. Had a chance to use some on the Bellagio $1's. White spots were super clean, but all bleed remained. Wear gloves, finger go numb after 20-30 minutes???? I put 20 chips in a lunch bag. Add a little fluid, and periodically, rotate bag to soak chips. I use dirty fluid as a pre-soak for next batch.

Re: Diamond Chip Cleaner review

I don't recommend Oxi Clean unless you have inexpensive chips to clean.

IMO if you paid any thing more then $1 per chip it is wise to use the correct method. Thanks for the review I may have to try them. Only bad thing is I don't have any dirty chips, maybe this an excuse to buy new set.

Re: Diamond Chip Cleaner review

If your chipsets are important to you and the money you paid for them is rather substantial, why not take the best care of them that you can? I use only the highest quality cleaners, polishes, waxes, sponges and chamois cloths to clean my vehicles. Same goes for my chipsets.
