I purchased some Table Mountain chips that had been used as samples in a chip cleaning machine at chip collector events. The chips were in bad shape, really dried out. I oiled them lightly and it helped considerably. Folks here thought it was nuts though.

Chips: 2,305 | | | Re: Yes, I oiled Bud Jones I guess the oil actually takes off the white chalky stuff. The oil doens't soak into the chips at all, so when you wipe oil of, you can put the chips right back into the racks.
But as you mentioned, as long as it works, it's good.

But it was comparable to a new clay chip. The seemed to have the same stuff on them.
