Getting rid of pipe shield smell

I just finished cleaning 500 paulson chips with pipe shield and it did an amazing job. However, they are left with a strong cleaner smell that I'd like to get rid of. I was thinking of soaking them in oxyclean for 3 hours or so - does anyone have any other ideas? I don't obliviously don't want to damage the chips with multiple cleanings.

Re: Getting rid of pipe shield smell

Gave them an oxybath for an hour or so and it knocked out 75% of the smell.

Re: Getting rid of pipe shield smell

You soaked Paulsons in Oxyclean without damaging them??? I assume it was a really weak mixture of Oxyclean - I have read that Oxyclean dissentegrates clay chips

Re: Getting rid of pipe shield smell

Oxyclean dissolves ASMs fairly rapidly, but Paulsons can hold up to a pretty good soaking. (I've cleaned a rack of Silks $1 that way.) But ALWAYS test a few before throwing in a rack.

I think the interview with Jim Blanchard from ASM discussed differences in how their chips are made (no doubt that is the reason for the big difference.)

Re: Getting rid of pipe shield smell

I have cleaned some chips with oxi but I only had them in the mixture for a few minutes and that cleaned them good enough.
I guess this is a bit off topic but I thought that you'd like to know.
