Re: Getting rid of pipe shield smell

could all these casinos be wrong?!?!??Our Clients - Diamond Casino Products
i said it before that we spend so much money and time on these things why not use the specific cleaner.
i don't want my chips to smell, be dried out or have to clean them twice.
IMO
ps i don't sell the stuff, i just use it

Has anybody here used the Diamond Chip Cleaner OR PipeShield on ASMs? I just wondered what does clean ASMs without dissolving them.

After doing a web search and reading more about PipeShield, I would hesitate to use this stuff to clean poker chips -- something that we're going to handle afterward. (I know some people are real believers in this stuff...and it says it's safe...but that is not its intended use.)

Maybe PipeShield cleans better than anything else, but the way it does it, and the "film" it supposedly leaves behind that keeps working...I don't think I want that stuff on my hands, or rubbing off them and onto any pretzels, etc. that I might EAT at the game.

(Of course, poker chips are usually covered with all sorts of germs anyway, just like money, not to mention the lead in Paulsons.)

I've talked about this with a few friends (non-poker, and not experts either, granted), who generally have agreed that PipeShield might be a bad idea...
although maybe we shouldn't have gone to that Will Smith zombie film first.

Re: Getting rid of pipe shield smell

Byline-- I think Old Cycle's original pipe shield discovery was made when cleaning dirty ASMs. Those first before/after pictures are pretty amazing.

I don't mind the smell of pipe shield too much. Plus it's great for mixed drinks and glows in the dark.

I just started using pipe shield on some chips. I posted some results in a thread called "pipe shield recipe" a few days ago. I'm cleaning some ASM Emerald Princess chips. I don't know what the original colors were, and I got them pretty dirty and worn. The color change is HUGE-- very bleached and dried out. Color is returning a bit with handling, but still a big change from pinkish maroon to really hot pink.
