Chips: 312 | | | To Oxi Clean or Not Oxi Clean that is the question... I just picked up a tub of Oxi Clean. I was planning on cleaning 400 PNY 1s that I just got for XMas with Oxi Clean, but I'm concerned that I might ruin them. I do have mineral oil on hand that I was planning on oiling them after cleaning since they might get dried out. I guess I need some votes of confidence from people that used Oxi Clean without any issues. I was going to use a gallon of cold water and one scoop to clean 100 chips 10 at a time for 5 minutes then rinse off and let air dry. Does anyone have any other suggestions who has used Oxi Clean as far as amounts and methods for chip cleaning?
Thanks! |

Actually the 1s do show some slight dirt around the edges as well as around the TH&C since they were used by the previous owner. I guess the chips being white don't help and they will get dirty with use. They aren't filthy, but they do show signs that they were used and I would like to clean them. I don't think this is unreasonable? The two racks of 5s and the two racks of 25s I have do not show any signs of dirt and I won't be cleaning those! |

Since I only need to clean 400 chips, would one bottle be plenty of the Diamond Chip cleaner? If so, how many parts per water and cleaner for one bottle to do 400 chips? The chips are not filthy, but there is signs of slight dirt on the edges and around the TH&C. |

from experience, use whatever you want, just no varsol or corrsive type chemicals, dont oil them, i dont know who thinks its a good idea to oil chips but all it does it make your chip slippery, clean them then wait and the chip will go back to its regular color, also your chip is white, i have $1 pny's they do get dirt ring on the sides after a regular use. if you want to wash them, go ahead, just let them dry and sit, BE PATIENT! the color will return, but white chips dont go pale cause of the obvious but the edge colors may. i have washed paulson chips, vineyards, double down saloon, pnys. all the top grade chips, and i have never oiled them and they look spank me on the azz new after a wait. plus the oil on your hands will add a nice shine. lol
i dont hope this helps, i know it help...salute.

After soaking for about 3 to 5 minutes, I brushed the chips then rinsed in freash water (NOTE: use rubber gloves...this stuff burns!!). Used mineral oil to "bring chips back to life" when they had dried out. Hope that this helps. |

I agree, Diamond Cleaner is the best. If your PNY's just have a little finger dirt on them one bottle is more than enough. Just soak and wipe off the excess cleaner.
My 2 cents,

But Oxi Clean will not damage Paulson chips. But it will almost melt ASM. Must be the lead
