Light Shmutz on Matsui Coin-in-Center. How would you do it?
I'd like to hear some knowledgable suggestions on how to clean my Matsui CIC set. It's jsut a little grime on the outer edge, no buildup in coin center. Sorry I have no pics but it's standard gunk. I'm trying oxi-clean on some 1003's tonight, then oil tomorrow but CIC is a different animal I would think. I'd like to have a plan before they get extra dirty. Thanks for your valued replies.....

I would think you could just wipe them down with a damp cloth. Since they are plastic, the grime should come right off.

I think he's saying the gunk is on the coin part which is metal.
I'd say a soak in diamond chip cleaner or maybe that enzymatic drain cleaner that OC tried should be fine. You could also use softscrub with a toothbrush, that should be mild enough to not damage anything if you don't scrub too hard too long.

standard organic gunk on plastic = Roto Rooter Pipe Shield
I've also seen websites where people take nice classic cars apart, piece by piece, and restore each part to 100% new. They use something to clean and recondition plastic, but I have no idea what it is.

In his first sentence, the OP stated that the shmutz was on the outer rim and not in the nooks and crannies of the coin.

Thanks Guys,
The Roto-Rooter Pipe Clean is getting some reputation on here. I think I'll go that route on my next clay set that needs a workover. I think I'l start with a mild soap and stiff brush and if that fails I'll make a dilute soution of the oxi clean since I have the powder.
If anyone else has a better slant on this issue, please feel free to let me know.
