I've been following with interest the posts about cleaning dirty casino chips. I may have found another clearning product that can be used. I bought some old, rather disgusting $25 Paulson Discovery Cruises chips recently for my home game. Couldn't find any Oxy Clean in our little town and I've had no luck getting Pipe Shield (none at Lowe's, Home Depot and the Roto Rooter main office in Iowa wouldn't send me any and there's no Roto Rooter Man within miles and miles of me since I live in a very rural area of Michigan). So I looked thru my cleaning supplies and found some Welman Cook Top -- cleaner for our glass ceramic stove top (just $3.97 for 15 oz. bottle at Walmart). Soaked the chips in it for a few seconds, used my fingers and a toothbrush (along with a toothpick for the nasty cracks and crevices of the TH & C and the outer rim). Chips cleaned up very nicely. I gave them a little oil and it really brought out the nice green color of these chips. (This is my first post of pictures so hopefully the pictures turn out OK and do the chips justice.)

Sorry for the poor picture quality earlier. I rescanned another grimey Discovery chip at higher resolution and then cleaned it. Let's see if this shows up any better.

Ok, so I dont know if this is the same stuff some of you guys use to clean chips, but I found some stuff called OxyDeep Carpet cleaner by Woolite. It comes in a spray bottle and holy crap, that stuff cleans. I had some dirty Dunes chips and i soaked them for about 2 or 3 mins and scrubbed them with a tooth brush. They look like 100X cleaner.
