Chips: 530 | | | Another oiling question - where to buy This is going to sound like a really stupid question, but..
short of ordering it online, where did/do you BUY your mineral oil (if you use mineral oil)
I've tried Walgreens, Rite Aid, Wal-Mart, and CVS. When I asked the people there where the mineral oil was, they act like they've never heard of the product. Then I can't seem to find it anywhere when I go looking for it after the store people think I'm creepy. | | Sponsored Links | |

Now, if you know some chemistry students at a university (especially PhD students), you can probably get the really good stuff (high purity, high molecular weight) for free (or maybe in exchange for some chip samples)! |

I was actually kind of surprised that's what mineral oil was actually for, since I had no idea. I'll probably check at Rite Aid and KMart today. "Hi, a couple of questions for you..where's the laxative section, and, do you have a bathroom in here?" |

When I checked out I noticed the "F" on my receipt next to the price, which means that this purchase is eligible for reimbursement on my health FSA (flexible spending account). Of course I won't submit the receipt for reimbursement, but I laughed out loud when I saw that.
Mineral Oil -- for healthy chips!
The next time you're constipated, suck on a poker chip!

I bought it at Williams-Sonoma in the mall...and use it every so often on wood-handled knives and wood spoons. It keeps the wood from drying out and cracking. Seeing an expensive chef knife with a cracked handle is almost as rough as a cracked Paulson.
Very good on butcher-block as well.
However, I bet the price difference between Walgreens and Williams-Sonoma is rather large. |

No dice on KMart and Rite Aid (two of them)
I went to a different Walgreens and found it for $4.49. I oiled up my T-mold samples and they are drying now.
