I've had two ASM labels pop off in my hands. Both custom sets. One was RTBrandy's and the other was Tastic'. Both used adhesive.

Re: Need Pipe Shield???

This is really, really bad news...

I think i read somewhere (homepokertourney perhaps?) that ASM-inlays were very tough and one couldn't get to them even with the tip of a knife ,but if they will pop loose whenever they get wet, this is not good at all..

Damn, now i'm all confused and indecisive again... I was soo set on some custom ASM's...

Btw, why is this the first time i've heard that ASM's are sensitive to water? Have i missed all threads discussing this, or could it be that not so many know about this?

I have not cleaned any amount of ASMs in water. I'm just saying to be careful and not get any water underneath the label. These chips may have been defects. I don't really know. But I do know they use an adhesive to hold them on and if water gets under the label, you're in trouble.

I'd start a new thread if I were you. Let some folks that own ASM speak to their cleaning methods.

Just called up 1-800-438-7686 Roto Rooter and the phone system routed to the nearest location. I going to pick it a gallon of Pipe Shield for $36.00 plus tax.

Yeah, going to start cleaning my chips tonight.

Just wanted to say thanks to Oldcycles and TonyPap for the great info.

I haven't ordered but I called and then went to pick up a gallon but I couldn't find the damn place so I had to get back to work since it was a lunch break. I haven't returned but would like to buy some eventually. Why do you ask if anyone has ordered in the last couple months? Its business as usual at good ole Roto.

Re: Need Pipe Shield???

Hehe, very familiar with those.

I just found out that my office is filled with major closet gamblers....
Everyone has bookies and make bets on every game...if they played poker...could be a very nice game...$5/$10 variety.

Sounds like everyone here used to have a major gambling itch.
