Re: Best way to un-warp Paulson chips !!!

I'm thinking I like more the idea of the clamp and the oven.
But I'd be willing to try / use the microwave method as well.

Yeah, it's definitely more clever and less labour intensive, especially if you have the clamp already. I used some (different) clamps in my microwave experiment, and it was too much pressure and it increased the diameter of the chips a bit. I think the oven is a more ... subtle?... heat and probably a better idea.

Re: Best way to un-warp Paulson chips !!!

The other though that I had on the clap was to mill a pipe or tube of some sort which is just barely larger than the chips themselves to prevent the for being "squished" into a larger diameter.

Quads,

Funny you ask as I was thinking of asking the same thing. I've actually been studying the spinners in my H-molds and think I can fix them with the de-warping technique.

I'm off to Home Depot to get some of the marble tiles and will probably play with this next week. I'll post results here.

A.D.

Re: Best way to un-warp Paulson chips !!!

Spinners I don't expect or would look to rid myself of, but the obviously warped ones, I'm interested in.

I'll keep an eye out for your report back.

Thanks!

Re: Best way to un-warp Paulson chips !!!

No idea. They have been sitting in a chip case inside a house. Not exposed to heat, so it's a mystery to me.

Re: Best way to un-warp Paulson chips !!!

quick question to the oven bakers.....
did you check before and after if the treated chips stacked to the same level as before?

It would be worth it if they didn't wobble anymore, but if they stacked to a lower height...that would suck.

Re: Best way to un-warp Paulson chips !!!

I just bought a sample set of Paulson's World Top Hat and Canes's. 3 out of the 7 are warped. I was considering purchasing these, but no longer. Don't particularly care for Pharoh's or National Poker Series. I also have a sample set of Le Paulson Noir. The black inlay on that is somewhat moody, not a happy inlay.I just sold my James Bond 2005's, so I am without any troops. Any suggestions. Have heard the quality of Blue Chip is not the best. Any suggestions towards getting a replacement set.

Re: Best way to un-warp Paulson chips !!!

What does it mean for a chip to be warped? I dont quite see it in the pictures.
