Chips: 12 | | | Need advice to clean standard chipco chips I have a set that's getting pretty grungy from a lot of use. What's the best way to clean? Soak then scrub with a soft toothbrush? If so, what do you soak them in so you don't damage the artwork? If not, then what do you do?
Please help. I don't want to ruin these chips. They cost a small fortune. |

I didn't know what else to do, so I washed them with a rag and "Joy" dishwashing solution. It got the sticky off. I used lukewarm water, scrubbed them with a rag, rinsed and dried them. I think it worked just fine. I've also thought about using Mr.Clean wipes. |

I have some 05 WSOP replicas that are a tad dirty, and probably won't be in play at all, at least not for a while. Just looking for a nice safe way to clean em up a little bit, and this sounds pretty good. I'll give it a go tomorrow, thanks! |

I don't think you can hurt the chipcos by washing them, but you should always experiment with small batches first. |

I think that cleaning ceramic chips is not the same challenge as cleaning clay.

Seriously, though, Chipco’s are pretty much indestructible (unless you play on a concrete table or go after em with a hammer) |

Chips: 530 | | | Re: Need advice to clean standard chipco chips It's not the chips I'm really worried about, it's more the colors and the design.
It seems that some of these have like surface scrapes on the edges of the chips, and dirt has accumulated in some of those.
I picked out 10 chips at random, and left them to soak in dishwashing soap for 20 minutes, then scrubbed them with a toothbrush, rinsed, and let them dry. I put them next to a stack of 10 other chips, and really couldn't tell the difference. I then put them back into circulation with my other chips, and tried to pick out the 10 "clean" ones, which I couldn't do.
There's certain chips in this set that may be beyond cleaning. Some color transfer it looks like, and I'm not really sure if that's able to be taken off. This is the only really bad one in my batch of 100 T1000s | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
