Try Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser. You get 2 per package. I used these to clean some very dirty white Paulson Cherries--and they look like new. Unfortunately, one eraser didn't go very far. If I try again, I'll cut it into smaller pieces to make it go further. This is a more expensive and time consuming option, but I'm certain it will work on the example above.
The below thread has all the info you need. I have soaked chipco chips for up to a week with no problem, then cleaned with a tooth brush. I have a set that's getting pretty grungy from a lot of use. What's the best way to clean? Soak then scrub with a soft toothbrush? If so, what do you soak them in so you don't damage the artwork? If not, then what do you do?
Please help. I don't want to ruin these chips. They cost a small fortune.
I would say dish detergen such as Joy or Dawn should be safe when diluted but be careful that you don't use them full strength. Way back in my younger days one of my jobs was to clean electronic equipment cabinets that were really dirty. I put some dish liquid on dirty painted surface (can't remember brand) and let it soak for 4 hours or so. After that period of time, I find the paint was soften by the detergen. So be careful, it might soften your graphics painted on your chips.
