Re: To oil or not to oil?

I think all new blue chips need an oiling. Other brands less so or not at all. IMHO.

LOL - 7th. Your English is really coming along. This statement by you sounds almost 'ghetto'. Sort of Ali G like.

How's the misses feeling?

Re: To oil or not to oil?

I will chime in as well. I am an avid fan of oiling clay chips. The Mardi Gras chips you have coming are brand new and still have clay dust on them. The $1 chips will brighten up like you wouldn't believe with a little mineral oil. I know some are fans of just letting the oils in our hands do the work over time and that is fine. I just love to see the vivid colors come alive after a fresh oiling. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. Hope you enjoy the chips as well.

Re: To oil or not to oil?

I think I will end up oiling them. If you wait for natual oils than you are getting a micture of oil and dirt. I would think that if they are oiled they will probably shed some of the dirt or make it easier to clean later.

Thanks aces, can't wait for them to get here. I'm hoping to use them in Friday nights game. I ordered some extras from Holdem poker chips to make sure I had enough.

Re: To oil or not to oil?

I will usually oil new chips if they look a little chalky --usually after some play the chips will naturally take in some oil and residue from everyones hands which IMO does enhance the look of the chips.

Re: To oil or not to oil?

I knew I wouldn't know what most of yo were talking about untill I got some of the chips. Oiling is the way to go. Kinda a pain but very nice. The colors are great and the feel is a little better, not so dry. Thanks for the help.

Re: To oil or not to oil?

No doubt

If you've purchased "quality" chips & cards you're hooked

If you're hooked, you're oiling
