You may want to try this with whatever chemicals you are trying.
I have not tried it on a Paulsons. But I had good results that did not even wear down the cross-hatched surface of the Blue Chips.
Even kitchen pads were rougher on the chips than the 0000 steel wool.
I had seen this but did not try it yet.
The only problen I see is the paint on these chips gets in the nooks and crannys where as your color transfer is only on the high spots.
Re: Cleaning off Gaming Commission paint from Grand Casinos
I thinks it does a great job at getting into the nooks and crannies. Other products (even rough-back sponges are not as 'spongelike' as the steel wool and magic eraser. That is why other products wear down the high spots rather than clean them out. The 0000 steel wool handles almost like cloth. As you rub with pressure it gets down in there.
The problem with the m-eraser is that it is not durable and crumbles apart. Whereas the steel wool holds up better (it too deteritorates, but is cheaper, lasts longer per price, and is more cost effective).
It's worth a shot. however, if that paint is absorbed/imbedded there is no way to not scrub away chip surface unless the chemicals somehow break up the paint and bring it to the suface where it can be readilly scrubbed and washed away.

Re: Cleaning off Gaming Commission paint from Grand Casinos
I have yet to buy some 0000 wool, but FYI, the GOJO degreaser with the pumice in it takes care of RUST STAINS great!I had about twenty snappers with bad stains on the rolling edges, but great otherwise in cross hatching and color. No tar paint. The pumice goo worked on it quick.
The paint, still a PITA and by the time you get to the correct color, the hats and canes are still grey.....
Gotta try the wool.
