Scratch remover for airtites?

Does anyone know of any available product for removing scratches from a plastic airtite? All of my airtites are pretty badly scratched (from carrying them around with me all the time), so I'd need enough for 100 or so of the buggers.

Re: Scratch remover for airtites?

Permatex makes a Polishing kit for plastic headlight covers on newer cars. It requires using finer, and finer grits of sandpaper, and then a final hand polish. Requires some effort but the results are really good from what I have seen (on headlight lenses). I also have a liquid cleaner and polish at home but the brand slips my mind right now, i'll check when I get off work, and post it then. O'reilly, Advance, or any auto parts store would carry those type of supplies!

Brasso... Works very well on plastic surfaces... I have an I-Pod that was very scratched. Using Brasso took out all of the scratches. Also made it shine like new again. You can find this at Wal-Mart or anywhere that carries cleaning supplies.

The liquid that comes with CD repair and stratch removal kits would work perfectly

Re: Scratch remover for airtites?

All excellent suggestions. I'll start with the toothpaste and Brasso (used to have some of that for cleaning my cymbals back in the day), work my way to the others as needed. Thanks everyone.

Re: Scratch remover for airtites?

Well, my airtite is smelling minty-fresh, but the toothpaste didn't do much to take away the scratches.

Brasso next...

I second this. It was recommended to us for removing scratches in the plastic parts of our pinball machine. It works great and comes in 3 strengths. I buy ours from Happ Controls (industry coin-op and arcade supplies). www.happcontrols.com

You have to have toothpate with some grit in it.
Jells don't work.
