Help!! Very Rare Chip Recieved Badly Cracking

Hello, Well I just purchased a very old 1950's chip online. I was informed it had a nick or 2 but no mention of a crack line along the entire edge of the chip. In other words the chip all the way around on the edge has a crack line. Craziest thing I've ever seen! The edges are in nice shape but look like they could crack away at any time. Would oiling or anything help this chip???

I wouldn't oil the chip. I would put it in a direct fit air-tite and call it good. Still, I would handle the chip gently.

Also, I would contact the seller, depending on how much you paid and what chip it is, and ask them what the deal is. If it is a rare chip and you can live with the damage then no harm done, but if it is common and the seller has more than he should replace your chip with one that acurately reflects the chip in the description of the auction.

- Good luck.

Couga

If it will fit, get an airtite with a neoprene ring and protect that guy. DON'T DO ANYTHING to it.

Maybe there is a treasure map hidden inside.

Well unfortuantly it's no common. It's the 1st issue Dunes "Sultan" 1.00 chip circa 1956. I can't complain however. It's in a airtite now and looks fantastic. Between the super low auction price and partial refund from a very understandable seller I got a very good deal. I will NEVER complain.
