Ok folks i had a bunch of nasty dirty chips that I wanted cleaned up. So I purchased a few bottles of chip cleaner and a mr clean magic eraser. at first i tried with the chip cleaner alone. i had one of those glad disposable tupperware like containers (the ones that fit sandwichs nicely) and let it sit for 10 mins. after 10 mins i noticed the chips really werent that clean...i was kinda bummed since i heard all this great stuff and was wondering why this wasnt working.
so take 2
i put more chips into the solution and i tried to cover it this time...i put that blue plastic cover over the chips and let it sit for 10 mins. after it soaked, i took it out and used the mr clean eraser on these chips. this seemed to do the trick....it really got all that crap off my chips. it didnt take more than a few seconds to get these suckers clean as a whistle.
what i did notice was, the solution gets pretty freak nasty after a while. it doesnt have any smell....but after a bunch of dirty chips it smells like the bottom of an ashtray. i really dont suggest keeping the used solution around (although it still works great, as long as i can control my gag reflex)
the next step is to just try the mr clean eraser and see if that will just clean the chips. ill report back my findings.
p.s. this did not effect the ultraviolet security marking.
Mr. Clean, Mr.Clean......I tried it before, not to bad at all. Kinda falls apart after a short use though....
Very true, but I also found that I was pressing too hard. The one I'm using now has gone through maybe 150 chips and it's still 2/3 in tact, but these chips were in decent shape when I started...
