Oiling the Paulson Sahara hotstamps

Has anyone tried oiling their Sahara hotstamps and noticed a substantial difference? I'm thinking that it would make a fair difference to the reds and even more the greens, but I don't want to have to oil 900 chips for a small improvement. I also don't want to oil one and find that although the difference is small, it sticks out from the rest should I not want to oil them.

thanks

Hod

From what I can tell, the question of whether or not oiling chips makes a substantial difference is highly subjective. One person thinks oiling makes a tremendous difference, while another thinks it isn't worth the trouble.

If you oil one--just one chip--and find that the difference is small or insubstantial, then it isn't likely that one chip (out of several hundred?) will "stick out from the rest." It's likely the only person who would notice would be you.

Re: Oiling the Paulson Sahara hotstamps

I know, the buffoons that I play with don't appreciate chips full stop, never mind these crackers. But I will notice, I know I will.

HQ's thread about those Arubas really got me thinking though, the change in them was dramatic -

Re: Oiling the Paulson Sahara hotstamps

I think it helps...I've oiled all my clays.

Here's a quicker way to do it...still time consuming, but fairly fast and less tedious than other methods.

Someday, I'll find time to make this into an article.

Oil your extras. You bought extras, RIGHT?

Re: Oiling the Paulson Sahara hotstamps

Paulson chips in uncirculated condition probably don't need to be oiled. Chips that are used (and subsequently cleaned) definitely need to be oiled.

If you oil one chip and notice a difference, you'll want to oil them all. It will either be a significant improvement or none at all.

Re: Oiling the Paulson Sahara hotstamps

In my experience, white chips show the least improvment overall after being oiled. This is true of ASMs, Paulson TH&C, Paulson home and TR Kings.

Agree completely with JoseRio that uncirculated Paulson casino chips probably don't need oiling.

Re: Oiling the Paulson Sahara hotstamps

Thanks for the input everyone, I've yet to decide. I'd totally agree the whites don't need oiling at all, I'll see what the rest look like after a few games I reckon.
