I sometimes use air-tites with a foam ring, usually in a colour that offsets or highlights the chip's base colour. The only problem with the foam insert type is you cannot see the edgespots properly.
Air-tites are fine if you aren't talking about lots of chips. I like to use the cardboard flips with windows. They fit 12 to a page in vinyl pocket pages. I then keep these in 3-ring binders. My chips are then safely protected and organized the way I choose - in my case by geographic location. They're easy to move around this way also and very easy to show off to friends who like leafing through the books. Much like photo albums.
I use air-tites too - both direct fit and those with the foam inserts for individual chips that I want to carry around for one reason or another or use as card cappers.
Airtites are great, they will protect the chip nicely. And they go for about 28c a peice in quantity of 250. You can store them in boxes for about $1.50 to $4 each (cardboard or plastic). You can go further with an album for about $17 (holds 24 airtites). Check out www.airtites.com
You can also get a Dansco album that will also hold the chip fairly safely. They are pricey but will display the chip nicely as well.
