Best way to protect individual chips?

Please help what is the best way to protect collectable chips? Do you put them in airtites or those coin looking protectors.

Thanks in advance,

C & C

My guess would be airtites.

I second that, get the direct fit ones, they look the best.

Re: Best way to protect individual chips?

I fourth it.

I sometimes use air-tites with a foam ring, usually in a colour that offsets or highlights the chip's base colour. The only problem with the foam insert type is you cannot see the edgespots properly.

Re: Best way to protect individual chips?

Air-tites are fine if you aren't talking about lots of chips. I like to use the cardboard flips with windows. They fit 12 to a page in vinyl pocket pages. I then keep these in 3-ring binders. My chips are then safely protected and organized the way I choose - in my case by geographic location. They're easy to move around this way also and very easy to show off to friends who like leafing through the books. Much like photo albums.

I use air-tites too - both direct fit and those with the foam inserts for individual chips that I want to carry around for one reason or another or use as card cappers.

Re: Best way to protect individual chips?

Airtites are great, they will protect the chip nicely. And they go for about 28c a peice in quantity of 250. You can store them in boxes for about $1.50 to $4 each (cardboard or plastic). You can go further with an album for about $17 (holds 24 airtites). Check out www.airtites.com

You can also get a Dansco album that will also hold the chip fairly safely. They are pricey but will display the chip nicely as well.

Where do you get the cardboard flips from and how much do they cost?

Thanks,
