Re: Brand New Bc Chips Looking Dry Need Help

I am going to have to clean some of my 50cent chips unfortunately as I do not think it is extra clay that accidently got in areas, I think it is dirt and stains in some of them.
What would you recommended I should use? I saw a lot of Oxyclean and I saw a lot of Diamond Cleaner, I am probably going to buy a bottle of that.

Depends how many, how dirty they are, and how clean you want them....

I would start with just dish soap and water with a toothbrush if you only have a few to clean up. If you want to do lots of em, Oxyclean works like a charm in big batches, though you might need to brush em off with a toothbrush as you are rinsing them. Takes off all the finger gunk and other organic stuff.

Diamond cleaner is excellent, too.

Re: Brand New Bc Chips Looking Dry Need Help

Considering I have less than 100 that I really NEED to clean right now, I will probably go ahead and order the Diamond Cleaner knowing I can clean everything I have and have leftovers.

How do you think the oiled chips came out?
Also if I dump the chips in Oil, how long should I let them sit in there?

The pictures look great, I'll bet the actual chips look even better.

If you soak them in oil, they only need to be in there for an external coating. But it won't hurt to be soaking for quite a while. I usually rub the oil into the mold areas with my fingers/thumbs, then let them sit for just a minute, and dry them off - maybe 10 at a time. I make extra sure to rub the oil off the labels (if they are labelled and not hot-stamped).

But if you've swallowed a good dose of mineral oil, you might need to excuse yourself when it goes to work.

Re: Brand New Bc Chips Looking Dry Need Help

People are arguing weather it hurts to put them submerged in Oil, the maximum i think I would leave them in the oil would be 10-15 minutes. I have a chip that is broken sitting in there for over an Hour now and I am going to go check it out and see if anything happens to it in the next 3-4 days as I am only going to oil my chips on Wed or thursday.
