Diamond Chip Cleaner - Rinse or No Rinse?

Note change in title of thread from "where to buy" to "rinse or no rinse)...

OK...folks have determined this stuff rocks, is only available at www.thechiproom.com and you don't want to soak your chips too long and you don't want to get too aggressive when you scrub the crud off. I've started cleaner the many Cherries I bought and wondering if folks are rinsing their chips with water and then drying with a towel or terry cloth, or just drying / rubbing them without rinsing, like the bottle suggests doing. If chips are not suposed to be soaked very long, for fear of the hotstamp coming off and possibly other damage inflicted, then does enough of the solution come off if you don't rinse with water, or put another way, if you only rub / towel dry and some solution stays on the chip (supposed to protect), will the "corrosive" factor of the cleaner lead to premature degradation of thr hotstamp and/or clay chip?

Re: Diamond Chip Cleaner - Where To Buy?

Thanks 2_Hotty. I just bought two 16 oz. bottles for $43.40. Wow, I hope the stuff is as good as everyone says it is. And I'll be really carefull on my new (to me) Cherries. -Nelzie

Re: Diamond Chip Cleaner - Where To Buy?

It's worth every penny......I used it to clean my cherries last week and they are beautiful. I dilute the cleaner a bit with water so my dollars go a little further.

Re: Diamond Chip Cleaner - Where To Buy?

I was going to say the same thing. Those bottles can go really far if you mix them with water. It' still works well too.

How does this stuff compare to Sterling's Magic Cleaner?

Re: Diamond Chip Cleaner - Rinse or No Rinse?

I didn't rinse...just soak, brush clean, dry, oil, dry...

The text on the bottle claims that the cleaner provides some level of protection post-cleaning so I just took their word for it...no ill effects...the chips feel very nice !

Does a 16 oz bottle only clean 250 chips as the bottle states or will it clean more?

It depends on how dirty they are, but I think 500 pretty dirty chips can be done.

BTW I use it undiluted and I do rinse. If the chips are dirty, the stuff becomes pretty dirty itself after you clean a few chips, and rinsing helps.
