Echoing all others here, just work them in to make them easier to shuffle. Even though BC's are hard chips, it shoudn't take more then a few games.
About the oiling though, I have to say, the color difference after I oiled mine was so dramatic, that I would suggest oiling them. Everytime I opened that case, the colors popped out at you. Just something to think about.
I agree strongly with 2 hotty about oiling your chips. It will bring out the colors of the chips and they will resist dirt and grime a little better, but it won't make them easier to shuffle. Mineral oil is the best and can be found at any drug store or supermarket. Don't drink any of the oil unless you're constipated it's main use is as a laxative.
I have dumped a bunch of brand-new faux clays in a pillowcase and "mushed" the whole mess around on the carpet to take that edge off. Not sure if you want to do that to your expensive clays though.
I have desert palms I got them about 4 months ago. After the first couple games you start to really notice a difference in the shuffling. It wont be an issue after a few 8 hour sessions.
Personally theres something very satifying about grind down new chips. I usually handle five at a time and gind them all day long. I just love doing that. I think its therapeutic.

You might not want to do that with clay chips. There is a good chance you'll put nics on some of the chips. The edges will round on their own with some play, after all that's what the chips are for. Enjoy the sharp edges while you have them. When they are gone you'll wish you had them back.
