Re: St Jo Casino Chips from ChipRoom

Well I'll be - looks like I was wrong - here are the ingredients:

Ethyl Acetate , Alcohol , Water , Propylene Carbonate , Dimethyl Glutarate , Dimethyl Succinate , Dimethyl Adipate , Glycerin , Gelatin , Fragrance , Isopropyl Alcohol , Benzophenone-1 , Castor Oil , Denatonium Benzoate , D&C Red No. 17 , D&C Yellow No. 11

I'm gonna get me some Ethanol Alcohol for my next batch.

Hmm, I've only done my $5's so far with the nail polish remover. The 5's have a giant inlay, so maybe that's why I didn't have the gumming up issue. I have a chip that I snapped in half while I was cleaning it, I'll douse it with the polish remover and see what happens.

Re: St Jo Casino Chips from ChipRoom

I'm tellin' ya - with the uncirculated 25's I had to scrub like heck. Even from the pictures (on Chiproom) you can see that the 25's I have, have a pretty bold hotstamp compared to the 5's, etc.

Umm, wrong thread?

If you want some, can't you still just buy these directly from Jim?

[Note: There are 2 types of rubbing alcohol, Ethanol, and Isopropyl, make sure you use the Ethanol.

What is the difference? Does the isopropyl damage the chips?

No, isopropyl doesn't damage the chips, it just doesn't remove the hot stamp. The ethyl alchol does remove the stamp quite easily, just let the chips soak for 1-2 minutes and then use your thumb to rub off the hot stamp while running the chips under the faucet. By far the easiest and most time effective method.
