Re: Are you kidding me?

I didn't have anything specific in mind, actually. I'm from Sweden, and alot of those household names tell me nothing.
I could make a pretty fair guess what they contain though.

So mixing tide, shout, and lysol orange degreaser is not recommended?

That sucks, I've been doing it for years. Now I'm just waiting for my lungs to collapse .

Diamond Chip cleaner is the way to go. I just purchased my second bottle on Saturday. Great stuff.

Not specifically that combination, but with all the unknown compounds in household products, one can never be sure if there will be a chemical reaction when randomly mixing things together...

Any shortness of breath? Watering eyes? Loss of hair? Loss of conciousness? Impotence? No??? You should be fine....J/K....

Re: Are you kidding me?

I use highly concentrated ammonia mixed with chlorine bleach. Fixes those chips right up.

Re: Are you kidding me?

Has anyone compared Diamond cleaner to Sterling's Magic cip cleaner? Similar results? Address different issues? What is best way to deal with color transfer on newish paulson chips like pharaohs?

Re: Are you kidding me?

Just removed hotstamp from 625 St Jo's. Started out with the Nail polish remover method and it was clear a cleaning was gonna be needed after done (esspecially with the whites) (these were the new uncirculated and did not need cleaning prior to hotstamp removal). while at store getting more remover, came across some of the Rubbing alcohol (ethyl alcohol type) mentioned by Johnny5. so i got some to try. It worked great as (as long as i kept it fairly fresh by changing out every couple batches of chips).

what i also noticed in addition to the hot stamp coming off much easier was how clean they still looked. which leads me to believe no cleaning step may be needed (i probally will try cleaner on few for comparison and to determine weather its needed with this method of hot stamp removal)..

This was for new chips, used would/may still require cleaning step
