Chips: 1,113 | | | Help Cleaning 700+ Paulson TP&C Chips.. I have a bunch of these Chips with Junk on them That I Would Like to clean.
I have about 5 colors, and the lighest ones seem to discolor the most.
Ive thought about buying the diamond cleaner, but at 17+shipping per bottle, and needing around 3 bottles is out of my range.
I cleaned 100 chips useing dishsoap and water with a toothbrush that works very well, but after there dried, they look very dull and discolor. I cleaned some light green/blue ones and I noticed very tiny holes in the chips appreaing after cleaning them.
The orange ones I cleaned turned out good. I tryed oiling some of the Orange chips and the color seemed to come out 20% better. In the racks after 15mins or so The orange chips all look the same shade of Orange. When I got them, the dirty ones seemed darker, and the clean ones were bright. some seemed very off color. like they faded.
Thanks for any help..

I do soak my chips overnight before cleaning though. I've cleaned over 500 chips with one bottle and the diluted stuff still works great, simply rinsing and rubbing with the magic eraser for about 10 seconds. I do oil mine to restore the colors. |

Chips: 102 | | | Re: Help Cleaning 700+ Paulson TP&C Chips.. I use liquid dishwashing detergent, luke warm water and a light scrub brush. I soak the chips in the soapy water for about 20 minutes then brush them clean. I put them in a rinse bowl and let them dry on a towel.
This, of course, is a time-consuming method but gets the job done. Color transfered from other color chips will come off when you brush them clean. Light detergent will not diminish any colors on a clay chip. |

Chips: 1,005 | | | Re: Help Cleaning 700+ Paulson TP&C Chips.. Sorry man, but I MUST jump in on this one. If anyone soaks their clay chips for this long, good luck....and please make mention of the fact that you soaked a clay chip for 20 minutes or overnight before trying to sell them.
I keep seeing people who say they soak their chips and I'm sure glad they are your chips because that is really nuts!
At most, if you want to clean a chip, either do so lightly with something like sterling magic between your fingers, or if more inclined to wear down a chip, use a toothbrush with the same cleaner.
But this should only take a minute or so tops, then rinse and dry off immediately. Let sit overnight spread out to completely dry. If cleaning a chip with water, then it's probably good to very lightly oil them with mineral oil, wipe off, let sit again loose not stacked in trays, wipe again the next day then store. |

TIDE contains enzymes that will take loosen most/if not all of the grime. Then you can wipe rinse and dry. The surface oils will likely be removed, so oiling will probably enhance the colors after cleaning.
I used this method on a 20 Cherry Paulsons from Wilson, and it was very easy and effective...kinda gross looking at the cleaning solution afterwards...don't people wash their hands...!!!!

Chips: 7,415 | | | Re: Help Cleaning 700+ Paulson TP&C Chips.. I have been using Oxi Clean. I just used it on 20 NY'er samples and it works great. I use a sink 1/2 - 3/4 full of luke warm water and one scoop of oxi clean. I let about 5 chips soak for under 5 minutes to loosen the grime then use an electric toothbrush on them. When I have 2 chips left, I put 5 more in to soak.
I cleaned 20 Ny'ers and 30 TR King chips in about 30 minutes. Both sets of chips came out looking brand new. |
