Brawny Easy Eraser Cleans FAST

I just received my Cherry Casino Chips on Monday and have been searching posts here for a quick cleaning solution. Have lots of really dirty chips - and I prefer them to be clean, if I'm going to play with them. I first tried soaking them. Then, I tried PineSol, dishwashing liquid, Clorox Cleaner etc. along with a toothbrush. Had no luck with any of them.

So, I went to the Dollar General to try and find a Magic Eraser to try. Didn't find the Magic Eraser, but came across something similar called Brawny Easy Eraser. At $1.50 - I decided I might as well give it a try.

Spent about five minutes cleaning five chips. It worked beautifully! Cleaned the chips so quickly, I couldn't believe it. With not a lot of rubbing. It took grime off with the first swipe. I even rubbed over the hotstamp a few times - and there was no change.

Very inexpensive at $1.50 for 4 Disposable Cleaning Pads. The pads are like white squares of foam. I just pulled off small pieces and cleaned until they were dirty and shredding, and then threw them away and pulled off another piece. The pads are 4.7 X 2.5 X 1". You wet them, squeeze the water out and start cleaning.

Just thought I would relay this find for a quick, easy and inexpensive way to clean some chips fast. Below are some pics of the five that I cleaned and five more that haven't been cleaned. Big difference!

Fantastic tip NanaB. I wonder if these pads could be encorperated into the mythical chip cleaning machine that some of the members were theorizing about a few months ago.

Re: Brawny Easy Eraser Cleans FAST

Nana,

Thanks for the great post and info on the Brawny Easy Eraser. I'm curious though as to how you dealt with the hotstamp? It appears that you even cleaned in the hotstamped area of the chips? Is this so? Did the erasers not damage the hotstamps?

Thanks,
jamby

Re: Brawny Easy Eraser Cleans FAST

I saw that the MrClean version was "new and improved". Might be a reaction to this other brand.

I didn't do a lot of rubbing over the hotstamp - just made maybe one swipe across them. I did not see any change, of course, in these photos- some of these appear to have faded out, but the hotstamp on these particular chips were already a bit worn. On the ones with a good, bright hotstamp - no change. (But, to be on the side of caution, I would only rub across them lightly, and only once.)

I still want to get a Magic Eraser - and compare them.....
