Chips: 13,958 | | | Re: Chip Cleaning Machine - Need engineers and tinkerers Not an engineer - but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
OK - not really, I actually am an engineer. Thats why I cannot speel real weel
I have a similar concept - get an old record player (ok - any rotational motor would work).
Attach disk to motor. Disk would be porus material -and would be saturated with chip cleaner. Top would be form fitting circle with "friction". Drop a decent supply of chips onto the first disk (whatever would fit) and fix the second one on top. Spin the cleaner disk - and the chips "grip" to the other (the chips remain motionless while the cleaning pad spins).
This is similar to the CD cleaners - but imagine one big enouigh for multiple chips to fit. Heck - drop the motor and add a hand crank.
Could make it even simpler - use a bowl of chip cleaner (there is a review pending about diamond chip cleaner) to soak the chips. Drop a bunch into the large disk. Crank a fer times, flip chips, repeat crank. Rinse "wiping" pad when necessary.
Drawings tomorrow (yay - a lunch project).
May even be able to make this from simple hardware parts.
Not full automation, but you could do 10+ chips at a time. |

Someone used this for oiling - seemed to coat the chips OK, but they could not find a decent medium for removing the exceess oil (still needed hand wiping).
I would imaging a similar problem for cleaning. We cannot use a real abrasive material for the chips - so gettig the "guck" out may be an issue.. |

Chips: 533 | | | Re: Chip Cleaning Machine - Need engineers and tinkerers I hear labor in India is real cheap... We could outsource our chip cleaning. I drew up a diagram in case anyone needed to see what I was talking about more specifically (note how happy the Indians are).

Gabe | As a Native American I am DEEPLY offended. Just because some of my people operate casinos does not mean you can exploit us for our cheap gaming industry labor. I am organizing a special dance to encourage the sun god to strike you down.
I KEEP IT REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They will likely drive prices down so low that Native Americans would never be able to compete due to the late-90's Mexican drought, which in turn led to record low agave crop output, which in turn led to record high agave price, which in turn drove up the price of tequila, which is the number one form of substinance of Native Americans. Prices for curry, on the other hand, remain astonishingly low - keeping the cost of living for the India Indians very low. In short, your people will loose this price war. I suggest you unionize with the India Indians in order to increase your wages. |
