PLEASE show us how it goes! Photos before and after, some clean stacks next to dirty stacks etc.

What denoms did you get? Did you buy used or new?

Well, I started the de-foiling process last night. Did not do a whole lot but I'll give my early impressions. The heart of the hot-stamp removes quite easily but the outer rings take a lot more elbow grease. I attribute that to the inlay being recessed and the magic eraser can't reach the outer edges as well. After removing the foil there's also a MGC black stamp underneath that which takes some more effort. It takes about 1 min to get the chip reasonably clean but I would get 2 more mins at least to get the hot stamp completely off. Even still, there may be some residual evidence. I'll post pics when I have more to show of the before/after. I got some $5 samples and that hot stamp comes off super easy because it has a grand inlay and it's not stuck to any clay.

I purchased the brand new damaged Paulsons. 700 total.

100 - $.50
200 - $1
300 - $25
100 - $100

It makes for 1 good cash game set and 1 good tourney set. The $25 chips seem lighter than the other ones and show the cracks the most. The $100 has less noticeable cracks and it's a black chip so it hides them better. Some chips have cracks that you can't even barely see. For the price, you can't beat this deal for authentic Paulson chips.

Im awaiting your pics. I cant decide if I should buy some or not. I would like to see how they look after the hot-stamp is taken off.

Re: Easiest way to remove gold foil?

Here's a few pics I took of the chips with the hot-stamp mostly removed. The top row is the original chip, the 2nd row is the chip with about 10 seconds of Mr Clean eraser and the 3rd row is about a minute more with Mr Clean. You can still see a small ring around the edge. I think with a bit more elbow grease it can be removed eventually but I have 700 chips to do so I don't want to spend too long on 1 chip. On the 50 cent chip, the hotstamp beneath the hotstamp also gets worn away if you scrub too hard.

Re: Easiest way to remove gold foil?

If Gaming Commisions see this thread we're going to see a lot more punched/notched cancelled chips and a lot fewer hot stamped ones.

You guys must be joking me, i got the stamps completely off in less than 20 seconds a chip. I soaked em in a concoction of liquid laundy detergent and "spray nine", it work like a charm, then you add in the magice eraser and blam, orgasmic chips!

If you dont believe me check out the pics...

Incredible! We need to full report! How long to soak? What brand(s), what mixture? I have LOT of these exact chips that I need to clean, and I'd love to do 20 seconds vs. 3 minutes!
