Chips: 66 | | | Playin surface Would any of you use your clay chips on anything else other than a felt table? example a resin fold up table? I did not want to use mine at a friends house. Also my table sits over a carpet. Most guys houses i play at the table is in the garage or basement over concrete and i swear a few guys are always dropping chips...one of my asm samples actually chipped when it got dropped off the table. So im very hesitant on where i bring my chips now. | | Sponsored Links | |

I have a review in the pipeline, but it probably won't be posted until sometime in mid to late January depending on how long it takes to finish up my Poker Genie Review. Anyway, check it out: http://chiptalk.net/forum/showthread.php?t=12351

Put an area rug around the table and the chairs, it will be enough to cushion chips falling off or dropped from the table. Another would be to use a plastic chip, either the Chinese imports (e.g. Nexgen), RT Plastics, or even BJs, that are more resistent to damage from such impacts.
With regards to the table, I'd suggest some sort of padded surface or even a blanket, just to prevent damage to the table from the chips. I'm generally more concerned about putting dents into someone's oak table than damage to the chips. Quote: |

I'd suggest some sort of padded surface
| ....
on this topic,
I've been in search of a place to find a huge mouse pad type material that can be cut to fit any kitchen table.
Our home game moves from house to house, and this would be very beneficial to many.
Somewhere out there, there is a whole uncut roll of mousepad, and I aim to find it! |

A giant mouse pad for a table top. It was on an end-cap next to some cheap poker chips by the same company as the table top. It measured 36x72 inches and was a nice oval shape with little white boxes drawn in like a BlackJack table would use. I think is was $15. Even rolls up into its own carrying case. |

You need to stop bringing your chips. This will force your friends to step up, and buy some good chips/table once they realize they are playing with crap every other week. It will take some time, but eventually one of your buddies will break.
