Intentional chip damage

Please don't do this. I've done it so you don't have to. The "ceramics" were much harder to break in half than the Paulson. The Paulson inlay is printed on Plastic. Some older chips I had (California Bell Club) were made with a paper inlay, and this swelled and was damaged when the chips were (poorly) cleaned. Those inlays were peeling up on their own, just waiting for a fingernail.

First, a Paulson sample chip (Moss Green).

Map-gas torch to the inlay

Inlay gouged by a screwdriver

Edge cut with a sharp knife

Snapped in half

Next, a fugly Chipco from the SunCruz Casino

Edge cut with a sharp knife

Cut with scissors

Finally, Nevada Jack's American Beauties

Edge cut with a sharp knife

Chipco and Nevada Jack's chips snapped in half.

Re: Intentional chip damage

I broke one of my TR Kings to see what it was made of also. I then took one half and baked it. The color changed to a darker red and became pliable (you can see that it is bent now). It was also soft enough to be marked. I took a quarter and hit the face of it into the soft chip. It left an impression where you could read the writing. Also found out that the inlay was paper based.

The insanity... where's the "Don't ever try this at home" Disclaimer?
