not sure how i feel so far. the bobby hoff interview is muy excellente. the first 50 pages is strictly for n00bs (basic ideas, including EV, pot odds, expressed and implied odds, calculating outs, different types of bets, controlling pot odds).
after that is an overview of NLHE cash games (pages 49-121). i think this section is valuable generally speaking, but if you're familiar with NLHE:TP and PNL it's rather redundant. i'm now in the middle of part three: TAG preflop play.
nothing earth-shattering thus far.
opinion: the HOH series was revolutionary, but mostly b/c of it's high readability and ease of access. the books aren't particularly sophisticated, but they're a strong foundation.
prediction: the same may be true here. there's already some really good stuff in print, and i'm not sure that these books are really going to add all that much to the body of knowledge. but b/c of harrington brand attached, the length (including many hand examples), robertie's readability, and the fact that it'll be at the top of many lists (including amazon recommendations), these books could end up changing things in similar ways.
