Chips: 1,555 | | | Full Tilt Poker Strategy Guide: Tournament Edition Just picked up the new Full Tilt book as I heard that it got a few favorable reviews. I've only read Chris Ferguson's section on bet sizing so far. The book is mostly about NLHE but there are several chapters on non-HE games. Even a chapter on rock paper scissors - lol.
Too early to tell if this will be the next Super System. - Anyone else read it thru yet? | | Sponsored Links | |

That said, this is definitely worth getting. Yes, the razz chapter may be weak (I found it amusing but am not good enough at razz to really evaluate it). And the stud (high) chapters are definitely weak (that said, I did get a couple of tips from them). But most of holdem stuff is very interesting, and it is nice that there is a dissenting view ("How not to play like Ted Forrest" by the man himself) to the standard views (Lederer and Ferguson mostly).
One other thing: Lederer has a chapter called "The Theory of Leverage" which he says has never really been discussed in poker literature. But it seems to me that he is talking about what Miller/Sklansky call the "hammer of future bets" in NLHE: Theory and Practice. It is slight different in TAP (for one thing, that book is about ring games), but it seems pretty similar to me. Anyone else (jojo? yeltzen? jim2k?) have any comments on this? |

forrest's chapter in particular read as if dictated from the guy while he was on the golf course; generally speaking i think that editing and presentation is half the battle with instructional books, and this one didn't quite get there for me.
i did like the lederer article although (as lisa mentioned) it's not quite as revolutionary as he thinks it is. |

I am currently rereading Winning in Tough HE Games (which is simply the best book ever for SH aggressive limit games), part way through Ray Zee H/L book, and rereading the whole Harry Potter series in anticipation of the conclusion in a few weeks.
How much are they asking for, and considering that I play 95% cash games will it be helpful for me at all? |
