i think once you get past the fact that it's not a sklansky text book, it's much more worthwhile. i actually really like the quiz that comes early on. interesting way to describe the makeup of an ideal poker player.
the strategy section is worth reading a few times. also - his absolutely-straight-forward-approach to everything is hysterical IMO.

I agree with the straight-forwardness of the book. That's actually the reason I got the book, since I kind of laugh at how honest Barry is about stuff. I almost wish he hadn't been honest, though, because I have a pretty negative view of the poker "society" now. However, I think that was his goal.
I failed the quiz miserably. At that point I wondered if I should even bother reading on, since it was obvious that the book wasn't geared at me. I carried on, though.
