I thought it was a great read. Not as a 'how to' book though. More as a general read about Greenstein's experiences and advice for pursuing a career in poker.

True, and it definitely accomplished his intended goal with me because, even if I were decent at poker, I would never consider playing professionally after reading it.
I bought this book from amazon, and it has helped me compleat my game. It helped round the eadges after reading Helmuth, e-dog's, Harrington, and Caro.

The pictures were the most annoying thing to me. I doubt that book was 70 pages without the pictures.

I thought the pictures during the hands were great. But, through the rest of the book, they just looked like filler. Like, he was afraid the chapters would be too few pages without them. The pictures just didn't add anything... yes, I know what the Borgata lobby looks like... yes, I know what Gus Hansen looks like... etc.
pretty good book and not expensive (25$ chip) given the quality of the material.. really great photos and some great stories. i havent read the strategy section
i bought this book from another CT member last year, and have read it twice.
i think once you get past the fact that it's not a sklansky text book, it's much more worthwhile. i actually really like the quiz that comes early on. interesting way to describe the makeup of an ideal poker player.
the strategy section is worth reading a few times. also - his absolutely-straight-forward-approach to everything is hysterical IMO.
