| Re: Best cash game book for experienced player? Almost everyone that plays NL games now is aggressive, so obviously the NL section of SS isn't going to blow you away. When it was written, it was revolutionary. Everyone played the nuts, and it taught you how to take advantage of that. Now, people play the 18th nuts like it's the nuts, so trying to play SS in those games will get you killed.
People will buy a book like SSH 10 years from now and say the same stuff about it that we're saying about SS. Probably the same with the upcoming NL book from 2+2, depending on what exactly is in it. A book can only be "revolutionary" until everyone knows about it.
Unless it's a really, really broad book, like TOP.
Anyways, there aren't many good books for NL cash games. The new 2+2 NL book is probably the best bet, since it covers smaller stakes games. I've read NLTAP and I just don't think it's worth the brain power if you're going to play in a $25NL game, unless you absolutely have to know everything about the theory behind the game. Phil Gordon's books are decent, light reading if you're playing in small stakes games.
